"Neuromuscular pain relief removes noxious stimuli within the body that is responsible for muscle spasms, blood vessel constriction and the pain-disease cycle of chronic misery. Neuromuscular Therapy has succeeded when a variety of other treatments have not helped."

— Ray Wunderlich, M.D., author of Kids, Brains and Learning

Specializing in:

The treatment of chronic and recurrent musculoskeletal pain utilizing the most recent and innovative clinical massage and bodywork methods available.

Postural analysis to determine how imbalances in your postural alignment may be setting up and maintaining compensatory muscular and fascial patterns.

A wide range of therapeutic modalities because not all problems respond to just one type of therapy. Some individuals require very subtle and gentle techniques like myofascial release and craniosacral therapy, while others may need more a more direct approach like deep tissue massage & bodywork. Still others need a blended therapeutic approach like Neuromuscular Therapy which utilizes both subtle as well as direct techniques.

About Neuromuscular Therapy of Vermont

The treatment for chronic pain provided by Neuromuscular Therapy of Vermont and other massage therapy centers is filling the gap left by conventional methods. It’s simply not true that chronic pain is a natural consequence of aging, and that taking painkillers is the only option...

A hundred years ago doctors didn’t have technologies like MRIs and CAT scans. They used their hands to evaluate their patients. While current technologies have provided countless benefits to medicine, the body is no longer seen as a whole.

And when the body is not seen as a whole, simple things can be easily missed. Like a torque in the pelvis creating severe muscular compensations in the body. Such muscular compensations can become extremely painful over time.

It is in this territory, that of whole body evaluation and treatment, that hands-on therapies like Neuromuscular Therapy excel. Neuromuscular Therapy is a sophisticated style of massage therapy and a method of postural analysis rooted in the principles of osteopathic medicine. By evaluating the body’s overall structure, the underlying causes of chronic pain can be ascertained.

If the body is not in basic alignment, or one’s posture is off the center of gravity, the result can be painful muscular compensations and overstimulation of the central nervous system.

Using extremely specific massage and myofascial techniques designed to relieve muscular compensations, align the body, and calm the central nervous system, Neuromuscular Therapy can provide relief where other modalities have not helped.

Don’t listen to the naysayers who tell you nothing can be done to relieve your chronic pain. Much can be done. Believe it!
